Vermont Country Store's chocolate fudge is extremely close to my Platonic Ideal of chocolate. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

And I only got two small pieces. [sniff!]

Turns out that eating a whole pan of fudge in less than a week is bad for one's weight-loss efforts. Especially if one goes to two parties that same week. Who knew? ;)

My first batch (ever!) of chocolate fudge is cooling now. The scrapings tasted wonderful, but it remains to be seen if the consistency will be right. If this turns out okay, I'm making two more batches next weekend, one chocolate-mint, the other chocolate-orange, and taking them home for Christmas.
